John Cyrier– Pilot

Q: Why do you volunteer for Dream Flights?
A: I enjoy introducing people to the Stearman biplane and educating them on the role it played in WW2. I have flown WW2 veterans in my personal Stearman over the years and find it to be such a privilege. Dream Flights is an amazing team of volunteers that provides a special token of appreciation to our nation’s veterans and their families.
Q: Describe your aviation experience
A: I’ve been flying since I was ten years old with my older brother in the front seat of his J3 Cub but got my license 20 years ago: commercial, instrument, multi, and seaplane ratings. I have a grass strip on my ranch where I live and own three airplanes including a 1941 Stearman that I have flown for 15 years and 600hrs. I also sponsor and fly a T6 Texan for the Commemorative Air Force.
Q: What is the most common question Dream Flyers ask you?
A:“Can we do it again?” I have also had a WW2 veteran say that they feel 18 years old again. Always brings a smile to my face and to the Dream Flyers.
