A year-long restoration earns the Spirit of Wisconsin a place in Dream Flights fleet

Whenever time allowed, 10-plus volunteers from Nevada, Oregon, California, and Texas did their part to restore the bright yellow biplane to meet the high standards set for an Dream Flight Stearman. Some gathered in the hangar located just outside Carson City, where the plane was stored during restoration. Others worked remotely, carefully restoring, packaging, and shipping parts that would be installed in the plane. The restoration was a labor of love – for aviation, for Dream Flights mission, and for the group of Wisconsin volunteers who spent two years raising money to bring this vintage biplane to the town of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
