Marcus is one of our younger pilots bringing lots of energy and passion for fulfilling our mission of giving back to those who have given to the foundation. He earned his private pilots license in May of 2017 in Susanville CA. Shortly after, he moved to North Carolina to earn his ratings and pursue an aviation career. He now flies as a first officer on a Citation XLS and CJ3 for a corporate company based out of Raleigh Durham International.

General aviation is something that has always been important to him. Volunteering with Dream Flights has been an amazing way to combine his love of old airplanes as well as his appreciation of our veterans. He met President Darryl Fisher at the Susanville CA fly in back in 2017. The two exchanged numbers but life has a way of happening and all of a sudden it was the summer of 2019.

A friend of Marcus’s in Reno, NV needed some help getting checked out in a biplane. Remembering that Darryl lived in Reno, Marcus reached out and during that conversation Marcus expressed interest in being involved in Dream Flights. It just so happened that the foundation would be flying Dream Flights in North Carolina the following week. Marcus came to the event and in his own words, “I was hooked!”

Marcus spent the remainder of the 2019 season as a crew chief. Shortly after the 2019 season ended Marcus checked out in the Stearman, and in January of this year he started his journey as a Dream Flights pilot by taking his Army Veteran Grandfather for his first Dream Flight in the Stearman.
